It’s April 7th and that means that it’s National Beer Day! Yes that’s right, a beautiful day dedicated to celebrating the amazing beverage that is beer. In honor of this wonderful day we’ve done some online research to find you the best beer cocktails out there. So if you aren’t quite a beer purest and like your beer to have a more fruity flavor, we are sure you will fall in love with these beer cocktails or should we say “beertails.”
This southern inspired beer cocktail is the perfect combination of fruity and sweet. It calls for three bottles of ice cold beer (a light beer like Harp or Corona), 4 cups of chilled lemonade and a 1/2 cup of peach brandy. Mix it all together with some ice and you’ve got a pitcher of some delicious beer cocktail.
Calling all rum lovers! This cocktail was made for you! The Captain’s Lime calls for 2 shots of white rum, 1 bottle of light beer, 1 shot of lime juice, sparkling lime soda, and 4 dashes of fee bitters. Combine all of these ingredients together (apart from the beer) with some ice in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for 30 seconds. After you’re done shaking, strain into two glasses and top with beer and a sliced lime. We recommend enjoying this refreshing cocktail with some Mexican food like fish tacos.
Watermelon and beer were just mean’t to be paired together and we’re sure you will agree after tasting this delicious beer cocktail. For this cocktail simply blend 1/4 cup watermelon in a blender and sift the puree into a bowl. After you are left with just the watermelon juice chill for at least an hour and then fill a tall glass with beer (we recommend Shock Top) and top with watermelon juice. If you don’t feel like going through the hassle of blending the watermelon, just buy some fresh watermelon juice from your local health food store or juice bar.
It doesn’t get much more refreshing than this Mezcal beer cocktail. In fact we think this cocktail may quickly become your favorite poolside drink. To make this tasty drink combine 1 shot of Mezcal with .75 oz lemon juice, .75 oz Demerara syrup and a dash of orange bitters into a mixing tin and shake with ice. Prepare a highball with a salted rim and pour mixer into the glass. Top with your favorite pilsner and garnish with a lemon.
